In December, I helped coordinate several shows both in Oregon and California. The featured artist was country singer Lynn Anderson ("Rose Garden") and her husband Mentor Williams ("Drift Away"). The first show was here at Western Oregon University and the next two were at Colusa Casino Resort in Colusa, California.
The preparation was stressful as there were two different groups performing the show. The first group was the Western Hemisphere Orchestra and the string section of the American Metropole Orchestra and the second group was the the entire American Metropole Orchestra. Also there were a total of 19 charts, but not all were performed.
Overall the trip was much smoother and there were no major hiccups. The only crazy thing that happened was the bus broke down on the way back to Oregon and we spent about 5 hours at a rest stop outside Grants Pass. It made for a late night, but eventually we were brought a substitute bus and were on our way home.
